Alabama Cannabis History The use of cannabis has been prohibited in Alabama since 1931, and the state’s medical marijuana program is currently limited to CBD products. However, as of February 2, 2021, Sen. Tim Melson’s Compassion Act — SB46 was approved by the Alabama Senate. Alaska Cannabis History Recreational use of cannabis has been legal in Alaska since 2015’s Measure 2 went into effect.  It was initially legalized by the court ruling Ravin v. State in 1975, but later recriminalized by Measure 2 in 1990.
