Kansas Cannabis History Cannabis use in Kansas is fully illegal, with the exception of THC-free CBD oil.  CBD oil was legalized in 2018 with the passage of SB 282 which exempted CBD oil from the definition of marijuana. In 2019, Claire and Lola’s law allows patients with specific diagnosed illnesses to possess CBD products containing up to 5 percent THC. Iowa Cannabis History The use of cannabis is illegal for both medical and recreational use in Iowa.  The only exception is CBD oil with less than 3% THC, which was legalized in 2014 when the Iowa Legislature passed SF 2360, aka the Medical Cannabidiol Act.  This enabled patients with epilepsy to access CBD oil. Indiana Cannabis History Medical and recreational cannabis use are currently illegal in Indiana, and the state has no provision for medical use.  Hemp-derived CBD oil with less than 0.3% THC is the only form of cannabis that is currently permitted. In 2017, HB 1148 legalized the use of CBD oil containing less than 0.3% THC for patients with uncontrollable seizures whose symptoms were resistant to traditional treatments.
